"About the size of a grape..."

I figured it was about time that I started blogging about my pregnancy. Its still not completely public yet, meaning "facebook official" but most of the people who would read this are already in the know anyway.

I will be 9 weeks tomorrow and our "Spud" is about the size of a grape and no longer has a tail!!

How sweet!

Its been absolutely amazing to follow the development of this baby. At 12 weeks, we've got a complete human...from there, it just gets bigger! I was never one that was for abortion per say but I wouldnt say that I was ADAMANTLY against it either. But I tell you what, learning all this stuff has really changed my mind about it.

We had our first prenatal appt on friday and it went well. It's still too early to hear the baby's heart beat but we'll go back in 2 weeks and try again! Heartbeat or not, Im definitely pregnant! I've got all the typical signs: nausea, peeing all.the.time., food aversions...ya know, the fun stuff. I shouldn't really complain though...my nausea isnt as terrible as it could be. I've heard horror stories of friends who threw up everyday, three times a day for the entire first trimester and then once a day until the baby was born! Oye!

My regurgitation count is 2 thus far...but nonetheless, nausea has completely taken over my life! I find myself eating like a horse to keep the stomach acids at bay and keeping plastic baggies in the car in case of car/morning sickness attacks.

Back to our prenatal appt, Im in love with my midwife! Each time I get to chat with her, I get more and more exited about getting to work with her during this time. She's got great stories and we seem to agree on alot of things. The more and more I talk with her and read other women's birth stories, the more excited I am about choosing an out of hospital birth.

We've decided to go with a birth center birth this time around. Maybe a home birth next time :)? The center is wonderfully comfy feeling and seems like a great place to birth...or as Jamie puts it, "Its like we'll be at a hotel!"

A Belly Preview- 9 Weeks

Nothing too exciting yet. Just a little pooch in there.

In other news, we went camping for a few days over the 4th and had a wonderful time. P.J. Hoffmaster State Park is just beautiful! We had great weather....but only on the first day. The rest of the trip was cold and rainy. Not. Fun. Either way, we enjoyed spending time together and doing crosswords.

We took a ton of walks with the boys. When they weren't obnoxiously barking at EVERYTHING, they spent their time eating sticks/sand and being bribed with left over goods from our neighbors.

Marley posed for this one ;)

Last but not least, we have carpet now!!! Ya hoo!!!! We've been getting all our friends to come over and wiggle their toes in it. It's wonderful!

Thats all for now. I promise to try and be a better updater! At least I've got something to talk about now!

Because we're so cute...
